As promised last week, this CodeMap Compliance Briefing will continue our discussion about the Stark II Self-Referral Prohibitions (Stark II) and the many questions generated by our last CodeMap TeleConference on September 13. This week, we will conclude the discussion by examining how Stark II affects the provision of designated health services in physician offices, including physician office labs (POLs). In addition, we will examine how providers may share facilities that provide designated health services without violating federal law.
