CMS has published preliminary payment rates for new 2011 CPT codes included in the Medicare Laboratory Fee Schedule as well as several codes included in the 2010 fee schedule subject to reconsideration. A 30-day comment period applies and will expire at the end of this month. Today we will summarize the preliminary payments proposed by CMS for the 11 new CPT codes, 5 new HCPCS codes, and 5 reconsidered codes included in the 2011 Medicare Laboratory Fee Schedule. Remember that final pricing for all of these codes will be included in the 2011 Medicare Laboratory Fee Schedule and become effective January 1, 2011.
