CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: 11/12/2010

Editor's Welcome:

Each year the OIG publishes a work plan highlighting the issues and concerns the agency plans to investigate in the coming year. In October, the OIG released its work plan for fiscal year 2011. The OIG's work plan can be helpful in determining what sorts of problems or issues will receive enforcement attention in the near future. However, many of the items included in the OIG work plan appear year after year and offer little predicative value on how the agency will proceed with new investigations, enforcement actions, and/or guidance. This week we examine the items included in the 2011 work plan that may affect providers of laboratory and pathology services.

Sincerely,

Gregory Root, Esq.
