Each year the Office of the Inspector General HHS (OIG) publishes a work plan that details both ongoing and anticipated projects. Several months ago, the OIG released the 2012 Work Plan that we will be discussing today. The OIG states in the report that their plans are influenced and/or required by recent legislation, requests and/or concerns of Congress, and recommendations developed in previous work plans. As such, all providers should pay attention to the OIG Work Plan because it indicates the OIG's focus and priorities for the coming year.
