We have always informed our subscribers of the importance of understanding and complying with federal anti-kickback provisions. We have reported numerous times of significant enforcement actions that resulted in expensive settlements and/or serious criminal and civil liability. However, for the first time this week, we are going to examine some concrete examples of this type of liability affecting the recipients of kickbacks, specifically referring physicians.
