As promised back in July, CMS has published their recommended payment amounts for new CPT codes included in the 2014 Medicare Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule. Ten of the twelve new codes are for therapeutic drugs and represent the initial product of the AMA's Quantitative Drug Testing Workgroup. This group recently presented a comprehensive reorganization of all drug testing codes (both quantitative and qualitative). With the exception of the eight codes discussed today, these new drug codes will be included in 2015 CPT.
