Editor's Welcome: This week we will introduce our subscribers to the new 2015 CPT codes for qualitative drug screening just posted on the AMA CPT website. The final versions of these new codes will be published in the 2015 CPT this fall, and will be effective January 1, 2015. Next week, we will examine the new 2015 CPT codes for quantitative drug determinations published at the same time as the qualitative codes. These two sets of codes represent a major overhaul of the CPT codes used by providers performing drug determinations such as toxicology labs, hospital labs, and pain management clinics.
