The AMA CPT Editorial panel continues to create new CPT codes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the creation of associated antigen and antibody tests. The latest information discussed in today's CodeMap® Compliance Briefing is included in the CPT® Assistant Special Edition: October Update/Volume 30, 2020. These new codes and guidance are effective October 6, 2020. CMS and private payers will likely determine payment for the new codes prior to the CMS Laboratory Meeting in June of next year. Please remember we will analyze coding rules and Medicare reimbursement for all new 2021 procedure codes in our Fall 2020 ....
