CodeMap® 04/25/12: Diagnosis Coding for Diagnostic Radiology, Part 1

CodeMap® Radiology Briefing: 04/25/2012

Editor's Welcome:

Welcome to a two part CodeMap® Radiology Briefing concerning diagnosis coding for diagnostic radiology procedures. Today, Stacie Buck introduces us to the basic concepts of diagnosis coding and the accompanying documentation requirements. She also begins an examination of the rules all providers must follow when choosing the primary diagnosis code. Next week, she will conclude her review of these rules, and wrap up the series by discussing the critical relationship between the source documentation and the primary diagnosis code. As always, please email any questions, comments, or suggestions to either Ms. Buck or me.

Sincerely,

Gregory Root, Esq.
