Over the past few years, the federal government has seriously increased its efforts to detect and thwart health care fraud and abuse. More funding, more investigations, and more agents focused on health care fraud have resulted in bigger settlements, more convictions, and more providers excluded from participation in federally funded health care programs. The following CodeMap® Radiology Briefing will examine the government's increased capabilities and the resultant enforcement environment, in which all providers must now operate.
