This week, Ms. Stacie Buck presents her annual radiology coding update. The following CodeMap® Radiology Briefing contains the first installment of a two part review of all the radiology procedure coding changes that will become effective January 1, 2013. This week, she discusses coding updates concerning cervical spine x-rays, nuclear medicine thyroid studies, nuclear medicine parathyroid studies, bronchography, and head and neck angiography. Next week, she will conclude her review by analyzing coding changes concerning transcatheter therapy and thrombolysis, transcatheter retrieval, and thoracentesis and pleural drainage.
