CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: July 30, 2020

Editor's Welcome: In previous CodeMap® Compliance Briefings, we discussed the coding and Medicare reimbursement for differing types of COVID-19 testing and related services. These codes and the associated rules continue to evolve, so today we will cover all applicable codes related to COVID-19 testing in one comprehensive briefing. In addition, we will examine the rules that pertain to CLIA waived testing and which practitioners may order COVID-19 testing. Going forward, we anticipate that the AMA and CMS will continue to create new procedure codes concerning the pandemic, in particular, PLA codes unique to individual laboratories and diagnostic manufacturers.
