Today's CodeMap® Briefing will continue our discussion of procedure codes and the updates and changes providers of clinical laboratory tests will need to make for 2024. In addition to CPT® codes, which we discussed in the last briefing, providers must also pay attention to HCPCS codes. These codes are often created by CMS to fill in perceived gaps in the AMA's CPT. HCPCS codes and modifiers play an important and crucial part in reporting and submitting claims for clinical laboratory tests and procedures.
