CodeMap® 08/15/2018: CMS Proposes New PAMA Rules

CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: August 15, 2018

Editor's Welcome: As is their customary practice, CMS addressed changes in the upcoming Medicare Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule (CLFS) in the recently published Medicare Physicians Fee Schedule (PFS) Proposed Rule. This year, in response to numerous stakeholder concerns, they discussed possible changes to PAMA rules concerning how data is to be collected to establish payment rates for tests listed in the CLFS. Stakeholders may submit comments on the issues discussed below to CMS until September 19, 2018. CMS will publish any changes in the PFS and CLFS Final Rules, which should be released in November. As always, please send us your questions, suggestions, and concerns via email.
